Moments

In the middle of a flurry of schedules and to-do lists, its so hard to stop and realize it. I use each moment to do something. To check a box. To submit an essay, finish an assignment, accomplish a task.

I’m so distracted, I still don’t realize.

That in this entire day, I haven’t stopped to say thank you.

How many moments do I use to reflect? How many do I spend in wonder? How how I used them today?

What are moments for? To get one more thing done, accomplished?

No.

Finally, I remember. Each moment is a gift. I don’t deserve a single one. And each one I receive, it doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to Someone else.

So in the middle of a flurry of schedules and to-do lists, I pause.

And say thank you. For hardship. For grace. For beauty.
